The SCORE® Association is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. SCORE® is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
SCORE® has 389 chapters in locations throughout the United States and its territories, with 11,500 volunteers nationwide. Local chapters provide free counseling and low-cost workshops in their communities. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate their time and expertise as business counselors. SCORE was founded in 1964
The Columbus SCORE® Chapter #419 (Counselors to America's Small Businesses) is a volunteer group of experienced individuals from all phases of business who offer their assistance to help individuals who are starting or operating small businesses. This individual confidential counseling is available at no charge and as often as requested. This chapter is supported by the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce and is affiliated with the National SCORE Organization and the SBA in Washington, D.C. This chapter also works with the local Columbus Enterprise Development Center as a major, local resource for small business development.
How can I obtain free help from SCORE®?
Counseling sessions are usually 1 to 1 1/2 hours and are normally conducted each Wednesday of each week from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Chamber Office, which is located at 500 Franklin Street (the corner of Fifth and Franklin Streets in downtown Columbus, near the library and the Visitors Center).
